MOG: The Music Webapp
I had never heard about MOG until the Cr-48 and the Chrome Web Store hit the market. For my music needs, I already use web-based services andyway. I started with Pandora but got sick of the ads in the free version so I pay a small fee for online XM radio which offers well over a hundred channels of content. However, it requires the Windows Media Player plugin so it will not work in Chrome OS.So, my choices are to use Pandora or something else....Man Receives Chrome OS Laptop From Google Running Windows 7
It’s surely a surprise for many to receive a Cr-48 at your door without warning. But it’s another thing when you get the machine, fire it up and find that it’s actually running Windows instead of Chrome OS.This actually happened to a man who turned on his brand new Cr-48 only to find Microsoft’s PC operating system instead of Google’s. The laptop appears to be running a Chinese language version and was likely used as a testing device by the h....Alienware M11x R3 Review

Keep reading to see if the latest M11x gaming laptop is worth your money. Our review unit of the Alienware M11x R3 features the follow....Video: Cr-48 Running Ubuntu
The people over at the Chromium team have posted a guide on how to get Ubuntu up and running on your Cr-48. Here is a video of someone who got the Linux operating system up and running. Although this seems like a great idea, I wouldn’t expect Google to promote dual-boot machines for commercial devices from hardware partners. They want to do their best to make Chrome OS a third operating system in the PC market and that will only be harder to....Toshiba Portege Z830 Ultrabook Unveiled
It seems like almost every notebook PC manufacturer has decided to announce an “Ultrabook” (a 13-inch thin and light multimedia laptop) this week. Toshiba America is the latest company to join the fray; Toshiba today unveiled the Port Share/BookmarkYes, Android is Cr-48-able
Posted on 05. Jan, 2011 by Daniel Cawrey in Chrome OS, NewsAs if this didn’t seem plausible.Someone has been able to successfully port Android over to the Cr-48. This was made possible by Hexxeh’s Luigi Cr-48 firmware toolkit. Android has appeared in many other gadgets than phones, which is to be expected.I’ve seen Android on laptops before, and I frankly don’t believe it has a future in the PC space. It lacks what you need for sitting in fro....Why Not Put Chromium OS on the Cr-48? Here’s How
Posted on 17. Jan, 2011 by Daniel Cawrey in Chrome OS, TipsWe’ve seen just about every operating system installed already on the Cr-48 – OS X, Windows, Ubuntu and even Android. But until now, no one had thought to create images for installing Chromium OS, the open source version of Chrome OS, onto the Cr-48. Thanks to Todd Vierling, anyone with a Cr-48 and another machine to create images on a USB drive can now use Chromium OS on the test dev....Chrome update -5 Best Free Tools for Video Editors
By Dustin SklavosWhen it comes to video work, pro-grade editing suites Adobe’s CS5 include pretty much everything you’d need, while consumer-grade video editors can handle most of the grunt work for basic projects. Assuming, of course, you’re using standard equipment in standard ways for a standard project. No matter how typical your use cases, you’re eventually going to need an out-of-suite tool — and after drop....Best Online Video Services Roundup 2010
By Dustin SklavosWhen I started this series a few weeks ago, I admit I came in with some preconceived notions. First, let’s call it like it is: cable companies have good reason to be terrified of streaming video services. Outside of sports programming, internet access — particularly on your television — goes a long way towards rendering the cable box obsolete. I’ve been a Netflix customer for years now and I’ve a....Best Internet Explorer Security Add-ons
